Rita and I have been quite taken by this small harbor town and really like the feel and vibe of the place. The scenic seawalls, multiple beaches and bays, the citadel at the top of the hill, charming St. Stephens Square, the multitude of relaxing waterfront cafes the quaint old town alleyways filled with artisan shops and seafood restaurants. All this in a wonderful temperate climate where people are still swimming in the warm Adriatic Sea in October. This has definitely been the best place we have been to in Croatia. The "beautiful people" have also found Hvar as every day their massive yachts and sailboats dock at the harbor and all the plebs come to gawk at the boats and the people on them (Rita and I are right there with them). We have a great routine here: go for a power walk on the seawall before breakfast, get out and explore part of the town, head off to one of the beaches for a little sun time, hit a waterfront cafe for a cappuccino and a little people watching, walk to a rocky bluff and watch the sunset before finally heading to a restaurant for dinner. Hvar is H'ven.
